Optical Instruments

The main optical instrument in use is a Meade 12” f/10 LX200 (Classic).  For casual observing Canon 15x50IS or Zeiss 7x50 binoculars are used.

Imageing

Photographs are taken using a Pentax *istDS DSLR for digital work or good old Zenith B for film.  Either camera lens, tripod or guided, prime focus or eyepiece projection through the LX200.

For CCD work a Santa Barbara Instruments ST-7E with Adaptive optics is used.

Software

'The Sky' version 6 and CCDSoft version 5 supplied by Software Bisque is used for telescope positioning and CCD camera control and image processing. 

Adobe Elements 3 is used for processing digital camera pictures.
